About

I discovered nutrition as medicine when I was a young adult just finishing college at UCLA. I had long been a student of science, with an ambition to go into healthcare. I was struggling with my own health issues at the time and started to read up on ways to improve my eating habits.

I was blown away by the unexpected range of benefits I felt from changing my nutrition. From improved weight and body composition to relief from depression, my life was changed forever. I decided to pursue an advanced degree in nutrition, with a focus on whole foods, integrative health, and the psychology of behavior change.

I graduated in 2009 from Bastyr University with a master’s degree in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology. Since then, I have worked in academic, clinical, and community settings, teaching nutrition to college students, working with patients of all ages in both acute and outpatient settings, and designing nutrition education programs for adults and children. In addition to my private nutrition practice, I provide bilingual nutrition services for community health clinics Santa Rosa, CA, where I meet with individuals and families for nutrition counseling and conduct group classes focused on diabetes [chronic illness] management and prevention.

In addition to my work in nutrition, I enjoy live music, dancing, camping, whitewater rafting, and exploring the wild places in nature with my husband, child, and community of friends. I am an avid cook and love to play in the kitchen, especially with friends and family who share a love of good food.
